Atomic Avenue does recognize "Very Fine to Near Mint" as a grade distinct from "Very Fine" and "Near Mint." But for other "transition" grades, you are correct, they are not recognized as such. Speaking only for myself, when I have books that are in those other grades, I tend to put them into the lower grade and then make a note in the "Grading Notes" field. The contents of your Grading Notes field will show up with your specific issue's listing on Atomic Avenue. You could just as easily choose to list your issues in the higher grade. However, I think that when you go that route it becomes really necessary that you inform the buyer re: the true condition of your item using the Grading Notes field. You don't want a stickler customer purchasing a comic expecting it to be in FN condition and instead receiving a copy that is VG/FN. My $0.02

TFAW.com No More :*(
Gregory Hecht replied to Antonio Schipani's topic in News and General Discussion
That's because it is. The Atomic Avenue store simply isn't set up for pre-orders. It is set up for customers to purchase existing inventory from individual users of the ComicBase program. I doubt that Human Computing is looking at doing preorders themselves, especially since that space has several large competitors that offer substantial discounts (DCBS, mycomicshop, and Midtown come to mind). Pete can correct me if I am wrong, but that is my hunch. I don't know if it would be feasible for Atomic Avenue to be updated to allow pre-orders from specific sellers on the site. Pete would have to weigh in on whether that programming would be possible/practical and, if so, whether the AA admin would be willing and interested in overseeing those types of customer/seller transactions.- 1 reply

I don't know how many of you were ordering your comics from TFAW.com, but I have been doing it for years. Their website was easy to navigate. I could select whatever comic and whatever cover I wanted with easy-to-see images of them, and not pay for shipping or the comic until my order was ready to send out, with a card they had on file to charge it to. I have searched far and wide for a replacement source to get my comics from. I really wanted to use Atomic Avenue because what a great place to do it from if it's the same outfit that makes this great inventory program ComicBase, right? But wow, I couldn't navigate their system to save my life. Trying to set up pre-orders seems impossible, so I just gave up and put a subscription list in with Impulse Creations. I think TFAW's suspension of online ordering is a HUGE opportunity for a competitor to step up. It would be a good idea to look at TFAW's site and see how easy it is to use. Maybe they might even be willing to sell you the program since their online site is going away anyway. Just wanted to share my thoughts. Love comicbase. I am a multiple-year subscriber now. I can't imagine inventory-ing my collection any other way. Thanks!

Hi there, I'm having some issues finding the appropriate drop-down for a mini-series. The series is "The Final Night" which includes superheroes on a snowy ledge. The mini-series is only 4 issues but when I search for the title of the series, it is only finding a series about Krueger. If I search through other Superman volumes, it does not indicate a mini-series being associated with them. Bar code is not finding anything when used either, however that may be an extra layer of user error as I am small seller who is just listing a personal collection. Any ideas? I've attached which comic I'm referring to below. Thanks, HP

USPS seems to be a bit of a mess right now, if anyone hasn't run in to this yet. I'd encourage anyone to not use Media Mail (a topic already brought up before I believe..) to ship books out. They're taking far too long to arrive, especially if they're coming east through Indianapolis. Mail is getting caught up there for days/ weeks. I'm waiting on a book right now that should have been here a week ago or so that's bouncing between sites in Indy. Just an FYI Steve

Labels not aligning when printing from reports
Gregory Hecht replied to George Schick's topic in Technical Issues
Hi, George! This sounds more like a ComicBase question rather than an Atomic Avenue question. I suggest that you post over on the CB message boards where your post is more likely to be seen by somebody who can assist. -

I recently bought a new HP printer. When I load a new batch of comics I print the "Identification Labels" on Avery 5160 inkjet stock. Lately the labels have not aligned to the Avery template and instead print to a smaller grid. Has anyone else run into this? Any solutions? Trying to work thru HP but no luck so far.

Postge cost for slabbed comics
Don Veach replied to Arun Rohila's topic in News and General Discussion
Seems this issue hasn't been resolved. Just got an order for a graded comic and the AA allowance was $7.41 but the actual cost to ship was $9. If insurance is added then the cost would go up. Shipping should be a minimum of $12-$15 for slabs. Doesn't AA know that the order contains a graded comic? It should because CGC/CBCS is the listed condition. They need to find a way to solve this issue. -

There are several reasons you may be unable to check out on Atomic Avenue. A typical reason is a lack of address verification or support for certain verification features. Make sure your bank has the address at which you are receiving your Atomic Avenue address associated with the Paypal account or credit card you are using. You may also try using a different payment method. Prices are in US dollars. If you are in Canada, be sure to log in when browsing Atomic Avenue. If you are placing an order with a seller that does not ship to Canada, the purchase will not complete.

HI I have tried 4 different times over the last 2 weeks to checkout using paypal and all I get is an error message. also I am trying to figure out if the charges are in Canadian or american dollars.

How to message a seller?
Carolyn J. Bickford replied to Steven L. Dasinger's topic in News and General Discussion
Maybe also worth noting is that Canada Post was ordered back to work on December 18, but they are (to the last of my knowledge) doing "rolling strikes" so even with the mail getting through, there may be significant delays. It wouldn't impact our electronic communication with Canadian sellers, and even if the Canadian seller put their store on vacation because of the inability to send items, it should still be possible to contact the seller. -

How to message a seller?
Carolyn J. Bickford replied to Steven L. Dasinger's topic in News and General Discussion
The buyer also contacted us directly, and thanks Steven for deleting the post per the request. I let the buyer know he can contact us directly at support@atomicavenue.com if posting in the forums doesn't seem like the right solution. That said, this is a good question, and there should be documentation for this. I sent this info to the buyer, since understandably where to find the Contact button is a two-step process and may be hard to get to. If the problem is beyond this, the buyer can contact us directly with any more questions or concerns. You can contact the seller via the seller’s storefront Go to the seller’s storefront by clicking on the seller’s user ID next to the item you are looking to buy. You can get to the seller's storefront via Advanced Find and entering the user's ID in the seller field. In the seller’s storefront, click on the seller’s user ID next to the seller’s name. It is at the top of the page and looks like Carolyn Bickford (cjbickford.) The name in parentheses is the seller’s user ID. The next page shows the seller’s average rating and has a button that says Contact… Click on the contact button and you can get a direct message to the seller. -
How to message a seller?
Gregory Hecht replied to Steven L. Dasinger's topic in News and General Discussion
I thought that the contact info for each AA seller was available on their AA store’s homepage (look for the “Contact” button next to their username). There may also be an issue in that apparently there is a strike going on by unionized postal workers in Canada. So that may add a wrinkle to this potential buyer’s transaction. -

A customer has the following question (his post was deleted at his request due to his full name being shown). "Hi, everyone. Trying to buy some books from a seller in Canada, but when I login, the items are removed from the cart. Any idea how to message a seller on here to ask about shipping to America? " If someone replies, he might see it.

Need to reset my inventory list on Atomic Avenue
Gregory Hecht replied to Troy Tyler's topic in Just for Sellers
Hi Troy -- This should be pretty easy to fix. 1. On Atomic Avenue, go to "My Store" then click on the "Store Setup" link (look for the gear icon). 2. On the Store Setup page, scroll down to "Currently Posted Items." You will see a list of database ID numbers. Using the "Remove" button, remove each of those databases. When you have finished that, go down to the bottom of the page and click the blue "Save" button. 3. You should be able to go back to your "My Store" page, click the "Browse Items For Sale" button and see that you have no inventory. 4. In ComicBase, open up the database that contains your correct store inventory. Post your items for sale from that database as you normally do. 5. This should restore your Atomic Avenue store inventory to be what you expect it to be. You can verify by going to Atomic Avenue and browsing your newly reposted store inventory. Hope this is helpful! -
Somehow during my update to ComicBase 25, an old version of the database got uploaded to Atomic Avenue. This caused me to receive 3 orders for books that I no longer have in stock which also affects my ranking on Atomic Avenue. How can I completely reset my inventory list on Atomic Avenue with the correct version of my ComicBase data? I have currently closed my store (On Vacation) until I can get this resolved. Thanks!!!

Carolyn J. Bickford started following Wish List Removal Reasons
-
Wishlist alerts which are returned to us because of disabled mailboxes, invalidated email addresses, or other similar reasons will result in the removal of the wishlist from the user's Atomic Avenue account. If you wish to continue getting wishlist alerts when items you are interested in buying have become available, make sure the email address associated with your Atomic Avenue account is able to receive the alerts. Atomic Avenue requires all users to have valid contact information including a working email address and phone number.
