Atomic Avenue > Tfaw.com someday?

  1. 1. If Atomic Avenue set up an awesome easy to use site to pre order comics and charged you the shipping with a method you had on file every 2 weeks would you use them?

    • Depends on how easy the site is to use for pre orders, stock items and subscriptions ...

I don't know how many of you were ordering your comics from TFAW.com, but I have been doing it for years.
Their website was easy to navigate. I could select whatever comic and whatever cover I wanted with easy-to-see images of them, and not pay for shipping or the comic until my order was ready to send out, with a card they had on file to charge it to.

I have searched far and wide for a replacement source to get my comics from.
I really wanted to use Atomic Avenue because what a great place to do it from if it's the same outfit that makes this great inventory program ComicBase, right?

But wow, I couldn't navigate their system to save my life.
Trying to set up pre-orders seems impossible, so I just gave up and put a subscription list in with Impulse Creations.

I think TFAW's suspension of online ordering is a HUGE opportunity for a competitor to step up.
It would be a good idea to look at TFAW's site and see how easy it is to use.
Maybe they might even be willing to sell you the program since their online site is going away anyway.

Just wanted to share my thoughts.
Love comicbase. I am a multiple-year subscriber now.
I can't imagine inventory-ing my collection any other way.

Thanks!

That's because it is.  The Atomic Avenue store simply isn't set up for pre-orders.  It is set up for customers to purchase existing inventory from individual users of the ComicBase program.

I doubt that Human Computing is looking at doing preorders themselves, especially since that space has several large competitors that offer substantial discounts (DCBS, mycomicshop, and Midtown come to mind).   Pete can correct me if I am wrong, but that is my hunch.

I don't know if it would be feasible for Atomic Avenue to be updated to allow pre-orders from specific sellers on the site.  Pete would have to weigh in on whether that programming would be possible/practical and, if so, whether the AA admin would be willing and interested in overseeing those types of customer/seller transactions.
