August 4, 20223 yr I am a new seller, and I am disappointed with the reimbursement for shipping. I shipped out 9 comics to two different sellers and the total cost for shipping was 33 dollars I was reimbursed only 22.50. I am reassessing selling on AA for this and other reasons. I am also disappointed with ComicBase values for comics. They seem to be priced quite low.
August 5, 20223 yr The shipping calculator for AA could use a bit more transparency, I agree. I have been beating that drum for a while now (as have a few others), and my understanding is that AA is due for an "upgrade" at some undefined point in the near future. Hopefully one of the changes will be for the AA shipping calculator to tell the seller what shipping method it used to arrive at when making its calculation. Without knowing the particulars of your two orders, it is impossible to provide any kind of specific feedback re: what shipping method you should have used for your two orders in order to (at least) break even.

Forgot to add: You don't have to use the ComicBase valuations when you post your comics for sale, you can set the price to be whatever you want for each individual comic. I find that it does help to look to see what other sellers at AA and other venues are asking for some items.
September 17, 2025Sep 17 In 2024, we changed our shipping reimbursement to be based on commercial rates. The USPS Commercial rates are available to all sellers who use software to create and buy shipping labels. You can ship packages at commercial rate via USPS' Click and Ship software which is online (making it platform independent) and free. Select Ground Advantage as your shipping option, unless Atomic Avenue indicated flat rate to be more economical. You can get the commercial shipping rate via programs such as Stamps.com, Pitney Bowes, and EasyPost. If it is a large package, UPS Ground may be more economical but we still calculate for USPS Ground Advantage. Atomic Avenue 213 471 2423
September 19, 2025Sep 19 Since we're updating really old threads, I will chime in here that changes at Atomic Avenue and at USPS online (both outlined by Pete above) have greatly improved things. It is especially helpful to know when Atomic Avenue recommends (or not) flat-rate shipping. For most orders (i.e., those that fit in a single box), this is sufficient given the current choices at the USPS's Click-n-Ship store. For orders with a large number of items (especially if they include, it would be helpful to know if Atomic Avenue made its shipping calculation for a single box or for multiple boxes. But that is a relatively small complaint; the majority of my AA orders have been single-package orders.
